The quality of life in Madison County continues to improve and reflects the needs and demands of the local residents, including the availability of housing for the growing base of young professionals and technology workers and the redevelopment of areas that have experienced decline.

Quality of life has become increasingly important to attracting knowledge-based firms and professional talent. Quality of life is not easily defined or documented, but it is nevertheless extremely critical to sustainable development.

Madison County has one of the most satisfactory levels of quality of life in Mississippi, but no community can rest on its laurels in this competitive global environment and every community can find room for improvement. One area that the community’s leadership determined needed addressing is the availability of housing for young professionals and technology workers to support the growth of knowledge-based operations.
